On Saturday night the Estonian Road Museum will open 2 exhibitions about the journeys to the Song Festivals during 150 years.

Night of Patterns is the topic of the Museum Night this year which inspired to create 2 exhibitions about complicated journeys of singers to the Song Festivals. As it is known there are no remained photographs of the first song festival although pictures were taken. So road museum decided to reproduce with Toomas Kalve´s help those forgotten moments. His old camera has seen 1870s and until nowadays perpetuates important moments.

An exhibition in the vault „Journey to Tartu 1869“ presents the importance of the first Song Festival to Estonian culture and formation of patriotism. This is the story of 800 men and the occasion which activated them to take on a long and hard journey on foot or by horse to Tartu.

Once again there will be guided tours with the treasurers to the storages of the museum and a unique possibility to peek into the new exhibition under construction yet. Guided tour starts at 22 and number of participants is limited.

During the Museum Night the visitors can join different work-shops, games or competitions. Choir Kevadised hetked will compose musical patterns.

On 18 May the museum is open 18-23, free entrance.

Food patterns from Varbuse Teemaja.
