Estonian Road Museum opened a new art contest

Estonian Road Museum awaits the competitors to take part in an art contest to find solutions for piece of art for the front part of the new exhibit hall "Ruling the Machines" 

The new masterpiece should find a "key" which explains the double meaning of the heading and content of the exhibition " Machinery Hall - Ruling the Machines": how machines rule us and how a man can rule machines safely. "The exhibition is dedicated to the traffic and traffic safety of the 20th and the 21st century so the material and topic of the submitted artwork should fit and be appropriate to the exhibition´s idea," explained Paavo Kroon, the curator of the museum.

The prize fund is 700 euros. The 2nd prize is 400 euros ans 3rd prize 300 euros. The total price of the winner´s work is 14000 euros. This includes all direct costs connected with performing and installation of the work of art.

Deadline January 14, 2019 at 1 p.m. The application and design of work should be delivered in a closed envelope to the Estonian Road Museum, Varbuse küla, 63122, Kanepi vald, Põlvamaa.

The artwork has to be ready and installed in the Estonian Road Museum on May 20, 20019. Opening of the new exhibition is in summer 2019.
