jawa

On the 7th September celebration of Jawa´s birthday in the Estonian Road Museum will start with a great parade from Ihamaru crossroad.

90 years ago the first presentation of Jawa took place. “ This is a good reason to dedicate our traditional Grandparents Day this year to Jawa,” said programme manager Kerle Kadak.

The creator of Jawa was František Janeček. In 1927 he got a license for producing Wanderer engines. In 1929 Jawa was born. The name was derived from two firs letters of two names – Janeček and Wanderer.

Celebration starts 12.50 with a parade in Ihamaru. In addition to Jawas all other unique motor bikes are also welcome. The moto police from Tartu police department will head the parade. Unic-Moto Vintage Motorcycle Club presents a pop up exhibition of unique Jawas. They also organize demonstration of stunts on vintage bikes.

Road museum will also represent the ancestor of Jawa – the oldest Wanderer in Estonia which belongs to Agu Koop and is still in running order.

The museum visitors can choose their favourite Jawa and design their own buff.

One of highlights of the day is Sepo Seeman´s stand-up „Man and Bike“.

Entrance with museum ticket, these who come by vintage bikes – free.
