In July 2019 Estonian Road museum is opening a new exhibition. The exhibition is partly built on the old constructions of former machinery hall. It is divided mentally into 3 parts. The central heatable space includes an interactive traffic safety exposition, 2 side spaces are for road machinery and cars.
The main principle of the exhibition – ruling of machinery – indicates controversial relationship between cars and drivers. Each part of the exhibition The content of the parts is following:
- Car culture – one can recognize how cars have turned from luxury items into basic commodities.
- Traffic safety – interactive exposition of rules of mechanics and safe driving.
- Road machinery – 105 tons of road machinery show how machines and engineers have built the roads and managed them.

The winner of the art competition “Tootemipuud” (Totem trees)
Different parts of the new exposition will be connected by the group of sculptures “Tootemipuud”. The sculptures will be placed in front of 3 entrances and their purpose is to be a distinctive introduction to the exhibition. In Jevgeni Zolotko´s, the sculptor´s vision totem trees built of engines represent our dependence on the machines.
